Hello Milo fans. I have four months of photos to share with you all, including some of the highlights of our Hawaii trip this month. But first, some updates about Milo... First off, this little man is 18 months and he is such a little toddler. He started walking just before Christmas, as a gift to his Dad who was really feeling a need to see some action. Once he got going, he may have looked like frankenstein with his arms out, but he was a solid walker and there have been no major tumbles or face plants. Also in big exciting news...hair! And it is curly like Brent's. I'm not so blinded with joy to think that it is a huge amount, but considering how bald he has been for so very long, it is there. The little fellow is slowly increasing his vocabulary and starting to string two words together at a time (like "I do") but he can communicate with Brent and I with a vocabulary of 70 to 80 words using sign language. Milo and I did a sign language playgroup last spring and after 4 months of no response, he slowly started signing back to us around 11 months. Now the only thing slowing him down is the limits in Brent and my signed vocabulary. We are trying to learn words that have meaning to him as fast as we can but he seems to be way ahead of us. As he starts to be able to say the words he's dropping some of the signs, but often he is doing a combo of both. I'm doing a baby sign language program at work and due to high demand for it, we've added on an extra program and it looks like I will be doing more in the future. I start a baby lap time at work this week as well. Work for me has been wonderful and I have been really happy there. I work with great people and I enjoy the everything about it. Brent's company is doing well and I know Brent likes the freedom to pursue all he can as opportunities present themselves. brentoliver.com is undergoing a redesign and will be up soon. I do the books for the company and I really enjoy that. All three of us went to Hawaii this month with Brent's mom, step-dad and brother Tim. We had a wonderful relaxing week and Milo looked so cute in all his summer clothes. Milo loved the pool, was OK with the sand (as long as he didn't have to walk on it), and HATED the ocean. As soon as we would walk him near it he would start saying "no, no, no" and signing "all finished." He was fantastic on the flights there and back, so it makes us feel that we could maybe do a nice holiday somewhere this year. Anybody have any suggestions for? So far 2007 has been much better than 2006 and us Oliver's are hoping that continues. Jill, Brent, and Milo |
